Being a Parent and a Youth Worker

Breakout by Tim Baker | It’s difficult to be a great parent and a great youth worker. Bible study prep often wins over helping with homework, and family meals can get lost amidst church dinners. What do you do when you’re a jerk to your family and you have to teach a Bible study in three hours? What do you do when you plan a lock-in but your own kid doesn’t want to attend? How do manage your kid when he or she refuses to interact with other teens in youth group? What do you do if you realize you have deeper conversations with teens in your church than you do with your own children? There are certainly no easy answers, but this seminar will offer real-life ideas and strategies for sorting out the issues we face when we’re youth workers and our own kids attend our youth ministries.
