Breakout by Jason Santos | Mission trips, conferences, camps, and retreats have one thing in common: they often send our young people home from “mountaintop” experiences without the means to sustain transformation.
Based on a ten-year study of the pilgrims of Taizé, this breakout explores why sustaining formation is difficult after a person experiences spiritual transformation in episodic environments. By reframing these places of transformation as “tastes of paradise,” we’re able to see how sustaining faith might really be possible.
